Welcome to Scorpland VPK at Satellite High School!

The Scorpland Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) at Satellite High School is dedicated to providing a warm, enriching foundation for young learners by partnering with families to create a safe, nurturing environment that fosters each child’s growth across all areas of development. Open to all eligible 4-year-olds in Florida, Scorpland VPK offers FREE prekindergarten education for children who turn four on or before September 1.

This unique program, one of only four high school-based VPKs in Brevard County, provides young children with age-appropriate learning experiences guided by both skilled educators and Satellite High School students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Program. These high school students gain valuable hands-on experience as VPK teachers, planning lessons, guiding activities, and learning best practices in child development. Through this experience, they can earn certifications like FCCPC and CDA, as well as college credit.

For the 2024-2025 school year, Scorpland VPK will run from September 3, 2024, through May 2, 2025, on Tuesdays through Fridays. Should enrollment exceed class capacity, a lottery system may be used for placement.

At Scorpland VPK, we’re committed to supporting families and fostering growth in both our young learners and future educators. Join us in creating meaningful, joyful early learning experiences for your child, guided by both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic young educators!
